My Top 6 Favorite Cricut Materials
Thank you to Cricut for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
If you’ve been reading or following my blog for any amount of time, you have more than likely noticed my love for all things Cricut. I’ve been Cricuting (is that even a word?!) for over 11 years now, so I’ve tried my fair share of materials and put them all to the test! Today, I’m sharing just a handful of my favorite Cricut materials with you!
Right off the bat, I have to mention that Cricut materials are often my go-to, because of how easy they are to find! When you’re living in the rural midwest, and need some vinyl for a project RIGHT NOW, craft store options are fairly limited. However, I know I’m almost guaranteed to find what I need when popping into the local Walmart. These Cards Against Humanity Halloween sweaters for example, were a last minute idea that required a quick trip for vinyl.
The other thing with Cricut vinyl is that it’s designed to work flawlessly with the machine, so you never have to worry if your settings are going to be correct. The machines and materials are pre-calibrated for compatibility. This applies to the EasyPresses as well, which allows you to use the Cricut HeatGuide for perfectly pressed results every time!
My Favorite Cricut Materials
My most recent fave is the Watercolor Cards. As you can see with the Veterans Day cards I recently made, the Watercolor Cards are so versatile and can create a completely unique projects. What I love most about Watercolor Card projects is that each card is completely one of a kind.
NEW Glow in the Dark Removable Vinyl is another recently discovered material favorite! As soon as I picked it up, I got to creating decals for the girls’ rooms! They absolutely love that they can personalize their walls with fun designs. I love that I’ll easily be able to remove the decals when we move this summer!
Cricut’s Printable Vinyl has been a long time favorite! It’s my go-to anytime I’m creating stickers. From planner stickers to larger die-cut stickers or even just school supply labels, the results are always perfect. When I’m using printable vinyl, the colors are always vibrant and crisp, and the texture of the vinyl itself is so wonderfully smooth!
Did you know that you could cut wood with your Cricut?! Yep! Skip the expensive laser cutters and bust out your Cricut Maker! The Cricut Maker 3 can cut a variety of materials using the knife blade, with one of them being basswood. Basswood can be used to create a variety of projects, such as toys or puzzles, and my favorite project being nameplates for the girls’ rooms.
When thinking about classic faves, Permanent Premium Vinyl takes the cake! It’s so versatile with hundreds of uses! I use permanent vinyl constantly to label items around the house. Permanent vinyl is also what you’ll want to use when decorating something like tumblers or adding a decal to a vehicle.
And the hero of them all, Smart Iron-On Vinyl! Smart Vinyl gives you the convenience of not having to use a mat, plus it allows you to cut up 20 feet at a time. This came in clutch over the summer as I was making matching family shirts for our cruise and trip to Disney. With one simple step, I was able to cut multiple shirt designs at a time.
Tell me, what is your favorite Cricut crafting material?
