Hello, and welcome! Thanks for joining me at Three Little Ferns! I’m Alex, and I’ll be your tour guide around these parts!

I’m a military spouse and mama to three little girls. Currently, our family calls the Newport, Rhode Island area home, but we’ll be on the move again next summer!

About the blog

I started this blog in 2012 ago while my husband was deployed to Afghanistan. I wanted an outlet to share my knowledge and ideas about the military and being an Army wife. In the 6 years since starting this blog, I’ve expanded to include posts about parenting, DIY and craft projects, traveling, and recipes.

My goal is to inspire other modern-day parents and military spouses with the content I create and share.

About me

I was born in Miami, FL roughly 30 years ago and called it home even through college. It wasn’t until I married my husband John, and followed him to pursue his military career, that I moved away from home for the first time.

John and I met in college, at FIU, as a result of Greek life. I was pursuing a degree in marketing, while he was there thanks to the Army’s Green to Gold Program. We were married just before he commissioned, after being engaged for a mere 29 days. Life quickly changed as I went from sorority girl to military wife. We spent the first few months of marriage living long-distance, while I finished up my degree.

Shortly after arriving at my first duty station in Georgia, we welcomed our first daughter, Veronica. Adriana, our second child was also born in Georgia, a couple of weeks before John deployed. We added a dog to the mix in Georgia as well! Our family was complete when we added Juliana, in Hawaii.
