Syringe Jello Shots

Jello shots are a fun way to share cocktails and these are no exception! Jello shots made in plastic syringes are perfect for sharing at Halloween parties or with adult trick or treaters.

I love the endless possibilities that are available with making Jello shots. Between the huge variety of powdered gelatin flavors and the infinite number of alcohol flavors, anyone can come up with the perfect Jello shot for their occasion.

What I love most about these is that they’re served in plastic syringes– a fun little gimmick for Halloween time. It’s literally a shot in a shot. While these look a bit more complicated to make than your typical plastic cup Jello shot, there really isn’t a whole lot of effort that goes into making these!

I recommend chilling and storing these in a large cup with the tip facing up (especially if your syringes don’t come with caps like mine). The cup helps keep the bunch of syringes from tipping over and leaking.

While I stuck to the traditional strawberry Jello mixed with unflavored vodka, alternate flavored versions can be made following the same basic rules. When making Jello shots, you need hot water mixed with the Jello powder to “activate” it. You can then mix in the alcohol of choice and use ice water to quick-set the liquid.

To keep the amount of dishes down, I even managed to mix everything in the same measuring cup. Simply start by heating the water in a microwave safe measuring cup. Then add the powdered gelatin and measure in the remaining ingredients based on the lines from the cup.
