I am a sucker for tropical fruit margaritas, like this frozen guava margarita! Today, I’m sharing another variation that is sure to be a favorite–mango!

Growing up, our neighborhood was packed full of mango trees, so in the spring and summer, you could pick and eat them to your heart’s content. Nowadays, mangos are typically fairly easy to find in the grocery store, both fresh and frozen!

While this recipe calls for frozen diced mango, my preference is to buy fresh mango, dice it yourself, then freeze it. However, in the famous words Queen Ina Garten, if you can’t dice and freeze fresh mango, store bought is fine. I find that a good ripe fresh mango just tastes so much better!

With your mango situation sorted out (whichever way you choose), you’ll also need a few more ingredients to make the perfect frozen mango margarita.

I do love this mango margarita on it’s own, but what I think really takes it over the top is the salted rim! And not just any salted rim, you’ve gotta go with a Tajin and Chamoy rim! Iykyk. And if you don’t know, I’m about to tell you!

Tajin is a chili-lime seasoning salt. It’s got some kick, but it’s not too bad! Chamoy is also chili-lime flavored, but it’s a thicker sauce that is made with fruit, so it’s also a bit sweet. Together, they form what I feel is the ultimate salt rim for a margarita.

Of course, if spice isn’t your thing, go with tradition salt for your glass. This may not be BK, but we’re making homemade drinks, so you can have it your way!

To salt the glass rims without chamoy and Tajin, rub the inside of limes used for juice along the rim of the glass, then dip each glass in salt.
