Red Gold 1776 BBQ Rib Rolls

Tender BBQ rib meat wrapped in crispy egg roll wrappers may very well be the best way to use up those cookout leftovers. Use Red Gold 1776 BBQ Sauce from beginning to end to ensure a flavor filled meal!

I don’t know about you, but when my family grills out, we tend to have a LOT of leftovers! I mean, you never want to run out of food, right?! After a couple of days of eating the same thing over and over, though, it starts to get boring. Instead of the same old boring ribs, try wrapping them in eggroll wrappers for a totally transformed leftover meal!

BBQ Rib Rolls have been a long time favorite of mine, and I’ll show you just how easy they are to make! The most important part of the process when making BBQ Rib Rolls starts long before you get to the leftover stage. You want to cook your meat correctly to ensure that it is fall-off-the-bone, pull-apart-tender.

I’ve learned a lot of kitchen tricks from my dad, but one of the major ones is: low and slow. Rib-making is always a whole-day ordeal with my dad, and you’ll see why. Even though I complain about not getting to feast right away, the end result is totally worth it. Trust me!

How to get super tender ribs

For the most tender baby back ribs, you’re going to need some time. Why baby back ribs? No reason, really. It’s what my dad has always used, so it’s what I use.

Plenty of people recommend removing the membrane from the backside of the ribs, but I’ve found that when cooking this way, it isn’t necessary. Plus, I can never seem to get it to come up. Instead, my dad has said that salting the membrane really well can be helpful.

  • Preheat the oven to 275º F.
  • If necessary, cut down your slabs of ribs down to fit in a large baking dish.
  • Slather your ribs with Red Gold 1776 BBQ Sauce. Like other Red Gold Tomato products, 1776 BBQ Sauce really packs in the fresh and natural flavor of the tomatoes.
  • Place the BBQ sauced ribs into your large baking dish with the meat facing up, and cover tightly with foil. You don’t want the steam escaping!
  • Bake. Remember, we’re going low and slow. For 2 slabs of baby back ribs (approximately 6 pounds) cook at 275º F for 6 hours.
  • If desired, add some char by broiling, or throwing on a hot grill for a couple minutes. Be sure to brush on more Red Gold 1776 BBQ Sauce. when grilling to get more of that delicious caramelized smoky flavor!

Making the Rib Rolls

Once you’ve enjoyed your first round of tender ribs from the bone, it’s time to repurpose the leftover meat. The bones should just slide right out of the meat and the meat can be shredded with two forks. I add in even MORE Red Gold 1776 BBQ Sauce to keep the meat juicy and flavorful!

Spoon the meat into an eggroll wrapper, then fry, air fry or bake, to enjoy a crispy and tender treat. I like to round out the meal with some more Red Gold 1776 BBQ Sauce for dipping on the side. Once you’ve tried it, no other BBQ sauce will compare! Red Gold 1776 BBQ Sauce is made with tomato puree, real sugar, apple cider vinegar, and a blend of spices for a sauce unlike any other I’ve had!
