Green Layered St. Patrick’s Day Punch
I’m a few days late, but wanted to share this green layered drink that we made for the kids on St. Patrick’s Day yesterday. While the grownups sipped on Black Velveteens (a layered Guiness cocktail), the kiddos got to enjoy a festive layered drink of their own!
The layered punch drink is super simple to make, but there is one important thing to note when selecting the ingredients. You’ll want the top clear layer to have a lower amount of sugar than the bottom green layer. The bottom green layer is Hawaiian Punch, and yes, it comes in green and is pretty delicious!
The Hawaiian Punch has a pretty high sugar content, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find something with less sugar that will float on top. I used sugar-free Sprite to add some bubbles. If you wanted to cut the sweetness a little bit, a sparkling water would be a fantastic option.
As an extra little fun little treat, add little Jello cut outs and/or whipped cream and sprinkles. Yum!
Green Layered St. Patrick's Day Punch
Ingredients
- Ice
- 4 ounces green Hawaiian Punch Green
- 4 ounces Sugar-free Sprite
- Optional: Green Jello cut outs, sprinkles, whipped topping for garnish
Instructions
- Add ice filling 2⁄3 of the glass.
- Carefully pour the green layer over the
ice. - Fill the remainder of the glass with ice and gently pour the clear layer on top.
- Finish off the drink by garnishing with green jello cut outs, rainbow sprinkles and whipped topping if desired.
Notes
It is important to make sure the green layer has a relatively high sugar content so it will stay towards the bottom of the glass.
Be sure to allow the green layer to settle before carefully adding the clear layer
