After my elf incident this week, I feel like I could down a pitcher of this apple cranberry sangria all on my own!

This is a sangria recipe that I shared WAY back in the day, but my photography skills have improved by leaps and bounds since then. Can we please take a moment to appreciate good lighting and staging?!

I’ve also tweaked the recipe slightly, to reflect a true sangria, which contains brandy–not the vodka I was using the first time around! Using brandy instead of vodka helps add a little bit of a sweet flavor, which definitely kicks this up a notch over my last try at sangria!

What I love about sangria in general, is that there’s no right or wrong. I’ve been on a citrus-cranberry kick this holiday season, so if you wanted to add some different flavors, you could easily experiment!

Cranberry Apple Sangria

Ingredients

  • 1 apple, cored and chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 4 cups red wine
  • 3 cups cranberry-apple juice

Instructions

  1. Place the cranberries and chopped apples into the bottom of a large pitcher. I used an apple corer to make the coring and chopping easier.
  2. Pour the brandy and wine over the fruit. If desired, allow to soak in the refrigerator for an hour.
  3. Add juice to the pitcher, and stir well to mix thoroughly.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, serve cold.

Notes

Add additional frozen fruit when serving to keep beverages cold.

What ever you’re up to this weekend, I hope it’s wonderful! And if your elf is arriving, take extra caution going down the stairs at night! 😉
