When the first day of Fall rolled around this year, I was so insanely jealous of all the bloggers with apple picking on their bucket lists. We don’t have anything like that here in Hawaii (unless you count pineapples). So instead of picking apples this year, I’m adding them to my wine. That’s like almost the next best thing, amiright?!
Sangria is such a great Fall beverage for entertaining. It should ideally be made ahead of time, which allows you to spend more time entertaining and with your guest. With the two varieties I’m sharing today, caramel apple and cranberry apple, you’re bound to find a flavor that appeals to everyone.
If you’ve never made sangria before, making it yourself may sound intimidating. Well, at least it did to me. I promise it’s not difficult at all though! If you can pour liquid and cut fruit, you’re golden. I promise!
I made a white and red version to share with my friends. The white is a caramel apple flavor that uses Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Chardonnay. The red version features Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon with hints of cranberry and apple.
Caramel Apple Sangria
A tasty sangria recipe with the flavors of caramel apples
Ingredients
- 1 Apple, cored and chopped
- 1 cup Caramel Vodka
- 4 cups Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Chardonnay
- 4 cups Apple Juice
Instructions
- Place your chopped apple in the bottom of a large pitcher. I used an apple corer to make the coring and chopping easier.
- Pour the caramel vodka over the apples.
- Pour the Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Chardonnay and apple juice into pitcher, and stir to combine.
- Cool in refrigerator for at least 3 hours
Easy enough, right?! Speaking of easy, why not try a few other easy ideas, to make Autumn entertaining effortless.
For decorations, the less complicated, the better. Since you’ll already have cranberries on hand when making the red sangria, float some in a bowl of water with a few floating candles. I also love how wine corks look in a vase.
Simple finger foods make serving a breeze. Cheese balls (or really any other dip) and mini filled cups easily come together ahead of time so that you can focus on more eating and less dishing out food.
