Essentials For Fun In The Sun

I was asked by Carusele to participate in the Walgreens brand suncare #ApplyRepeatProtect campaign, sponsored by Walgreens. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own.

Holy cow! I can hardly believe that the schools here start NEXT WEEK! This year, I’ll have a second grader AND a kindergartner! Where does the time go?!

Like I mentioned in my post over the weekend, I have no idea how to winter. As a result, my little beach bums and I have been soaking up summer as much as we can, while we can! I’m predicting that once the temps start to dip below 70, we’ll be camping in front of our fireplace in parkas.

Seriously though- holla at ya girl with any and all tips for winter. I’ve never done this before.

With the help of our little summer fun schedule, I’ve been making sure to get out of the house (or at least do something fun at home) during the week, when John is at work. The favorite around here seems to be Water Fun Wednesday. Boy, do these island babies miss the water.

There’s a water park not too far from us that has become our Wednesday hangout of choice. There are slides that V loves to ride, a whirlpool that Adri has a blast in, and a laid back lazy river perfect for Ju and I. They’ve even been handing out free lunches this summer, which makes the spot a no-brainer!

While we’re out having our fun, there are a couple of things constantly on my mind though! One of them being sun safety. Growing up and subsequently going to college in Miami, I’ve had my fair share of beach days. Back in the day, I didn’t take precautions in the sun, which is why I try to be more aware now. That’s why we make a pit stop at Walgreen’s on our way to the water park. Walgreens has everything we need need for a fun day out in the sun, including snacks, water, and sunblock! This summer, Walgreens is all about being “Skin Smart” by protecting your skin from the sun with #ApplyRepeatProtect.

I prefer Walgreens Sheer and Clear Complexion for myself. It competes with brand a name sunscreen at a fraction of the price. The lightweight oil-free lotion protects my skin without feeling heavy and gross.

For all three girls, Walgreens Baby Lotion 50+ is the way to go! It rubs in easily and is water resistant for up to 80 minutes! Perfect for the pool! Plus, it is a top-rated sunscreen on Consumer Reports!

Right now, you can even get $1 OFF when you purchase one Walgreens brand suncare product and one smartwater, by clipping the coupon to your Balance Reward card (6/25-8/26). Keep your skin protected on the outside and hydrated from within for the remainder of the summer!

Join me at the #ApplyRepeatProtect Twitter party on August 17, at 8:00pm. You’ll have a chance to learn more about Walgreens brand suncare and win a themed prize pack featuring a Walgreens gift card and other summer essentials. No RSVP necessary!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Walgreens. The opinions and text are all mine.

  1. Ahh! I guess you’re pretty much in the same boat as us! Warmer Army locations! I know that where ever we end up after this will likely have even colder winters! Good luck this year! LOL

  2. Haha yes!!!! We have lived in 5 incredibly hot states with mild winters. I’m not ready for real winter! 🙈
