Woohoo! It’s back to school time!

The girls had open house this week, and they’re back to class on Thursday! I had been anxiously awaiting open house to find out who their teachers would be! I’d been dreaming up this little teacher gift since I picked up the shapes from the Dollar Spot weeks earlier.

As many of you know, I use my Cricut for nearly everything, so why not back to school gifts for the girls’ teachers?! Each apple cost $3 and only required a small strip of vinyl. So for less than $4, I have personalized gift to give each teacher next week!

To start each project, I made an SVG file of each of the teachers’ names and uploaded them to Design Space. This way, I’ll have the names easily accessible in my images with one click for future projects this school year.

From there I sized each of the names to 8″ wide and sent them to cut. For this project, I used the same matte white vinyl that I used on my chalkboard project. The matte will match the texture of the apples and it’s removable, so if the teachers want to use the apples for something else in the future, they can easily peel the vinyl off.

Once the names were all cut, I removed the excess vinyl. Using transfer tape, I applied each name to an apple, and that was that! In less than 10 minutes, two teacher gifts done!

Back to school teacher gift ideaI just LOVE how this project turned out! I’m saving the bus to make a project for myself. Now that we have a mantle, I’ve gotta decorate!

Sidenote- for any of my crafter friends considering getting a Cricut of their own. Cricut just announced their new machine that will be available later this month! This new one will have the ability to cut fabric without the need for backing, plus other new features!
