Monday Blues
I know, I know. It’s Tuesday. I’m a bit late to the game. I just HAD to share these photos today! We had the most wonderful long weekend. Plus, it’s dark and dreary out today, which has me day dreaming about sunshine, sand, and hot pink flamingo floaties.
My brother was in town from Amsterdam this weekend for a wedding. A friend from college was getting married here, so with his airline perks, the little bro and his girlfriend flew in on Friday. They flew out late last night, so we made the most of our Monday with a trip to the beach.
Although the North Shore is my favorite island spot, the waves are killer this time of year, so we stuck to the lagoons in Ko’Olina. The lagoons are man-made and reside in a resort area, so it’s always a beautiful trip. The waves in the lagoons are minimal, no matter what the season, which makes it a great place for kids and babies.
We got a late start on the day, so once we made it down to Ko’Olina, the main parking lot was packed. Luckily, at the last lagoon they also have paid parking. Free would be nice, but compared to other parking prices, $10 a day isn’t terrible.
The last time we had gone down to the lagoons, the water was a little murky with brown bubbles. I believe it may have been related to the cargo ships and their fuel? Not sure, but this time around the water was sparkling and clear! No complaints at all!
