DIY Lavender Milk Bath

Things have once again been quiet around here. This time, I blame the husband. He’s been on leave, and has been hogging the laptop. While we do have a desktop computer as well, I always prefer the MacBook.

What has he been hogging the computer for, you might ask? Research. Way too much research. Like sitting on the computer all day and staying up until midnight research.

Although we STILL don’t have orders, John has been busy looking up housing options and combing through vehicle specifications. Oh, and constantly checking to see if an RFO (request for orders) has come through.

Our plan is to hopefully leave one car behind and purchase a new vehicle upon arrival on the mainland. We’ll only have about 2 days back home to get the car, before we have to hit the road for our new duty station. Talk about stressful!

In an effort to curb some of that stress, I decided to try and cook something up. I’ve recently started using essential oils. Much like lavender baby wash helps little ones wind down at bed time, lavender essential oils are meant to be calming. Added to a milk bath makes them a skin-soothing treat!

Along with the researching, I’ve been doing my best to clear out the freezer. Ju has been receiving milk baths with leftover frozen breast milk. In all honesty, bathing in my bodily fluids creeps me out, so I’ve been making a different version for myself.

Lavender mix for DIY milk bath

By combining powdered milk, baking soda, and lavender essential oils, I’ve been able to create an easy version of a milk bath. It takes just a few minutes to make, and is perfect for a long hot bath!
