Valentines Art

To continue along with my project theme lately, I had the girls whip up these adorable canvas paints yesterday. I got the idea from a craft group on Facebook, and because I had these canvases in the house already, we gave it a shot.

I used my Cricut, to cut the design into Contact paper. Contact paper was the much cheaper alternative to using actual vinyl. At first, I tried the clear Contact paper that I usually use as a transfer tape when making vinyl projects, but it didn’t stick to the canvas very well. I then tried a different type of Contact paper that stuck much better. It wasn’t perfect, and the girls had to be gentle, but it got the job done.

LOVE painted canvas craft project for kids!

I plan on letting Juli do one of these canvases as well, and I think I might try blow drying the Contact paper, to get it to adhere better.

From there, I handed the girls some red, pink, and white paint, along with brushes, and allowed them to get creative.

Painting LOVE canvas

I completely forgot to take photos of the finished products, but I’ll be sure to as soon as I have an opportunity this morning!

I’ve been collecting Valentine’s decor for the mantel I hope to have one day, and these little projects will be perfect for it!

**Update: Here are the finished ones!**
