Phew!
Oh, what a weekend it was! I couldn’t be happier to be starting this Monday morning off without an alarm clock! Thank you, Winter Break, for giving this mama a small chance to recover from the jam packed weekend. I hope.
Before I get into the good from the weekend, I’ll start out with the bad. That’s how it works, right? End on a happy note..?
Over the weekend, and for several hours for the last few weeks, I’ve been putting together unit ornaments for John’s battalion. Let’s just say, NEVER.AGAIN.
Sunday was crunch time, so the entire day was consumed with weeding vinyl and applying it to ornaments. My eyes hurt, my hands hurt, my back hurts. Never again.
Also, as I was getting ready for date night on Saturday, I realized that I had lost one of my Pandora bracelets. It wasn’t where the rest of my bracelets and jewelry are, so that put a damper on my Saturday evening. And Sunday morning.
Until… I found my bracelet! It was in a makeup bag under my sink. I last remember wearing it at the ball in September. After that, I couldn’t tell you! We’ve had the babysitter over since the ball, so my mind automatically jumped to her stealing it (sorry!). Thankfully, it was probably just one of my munchkins, who all love to destroy the area under my sink.
SO! On Saturday night, John and I joined our friends for dinner and The Nutcracker, in Honolulu.
We had dinner at 53 by the Sea, which is this gorgeous mansion, with breathtaking views of Oahu. John and I split a bottle of wine and appetizer which was pretty good. I’ve never liked lobster in the past, but our lobster appetizer wasn’t bad! I can’t remember what he had for dinner, but I had the filet mignon, one of the few turf selections on the menu.
Just a few blocks away, at the Blaisdell Center, The Nutcracker was being put on by Ballet Hawaii. It’s been a couple decades since I’ve seen The Nutcracker, but it was as good of a show as I remember. Although, I am grateful for the intermission.
How was your weekend?!
