Military Police Ball 2015
This past Friday was John’s Brigade ball down in Waikiki. Once again, we had an absolutely fantastic time. I wish I had better photos to share, but the lighting wasn’t the greatest. I’m totally against using the flash on my camera, so I wasn’t able to capture much.
Our evening started up stairs in a friend’s hotel room. The boys had to rehearse earlier in the day, and it didn’t make sense for them to drive back home, so they stayed there all afternoon. We got ready, took photos, and did a little pre-partying, before heading down to the event.
As you can see, this isn’t the dress I posted about before. I have no idea how it happened, but I ended up with my second choice dress. I swear I ordered the one shoulder one, since it fit the Centurion theme, it was cheaper, and the second choice dress looks a lot like my dress from last year.
We mingled throughout the social hour, then went through the receiving line and met the Honolulu Chief of Police. Pretty cool!
Although we weren’t seated with our friends this year, we sat with a good mix of people from John’s company. Our friend with the vodka gummy bears was close enough for us to run over to for refills, so it was all good.
I had a hard time seeing a lot of the ceremony, since we didn’t have a great view of the stage, which was a bummer. Thankfully, everything moved along nicely, so it’s not like we were just sitting there for ages.
For the second year in a row, we shut the place down. We’ve been lucky enough to be able to attend the last few balls with great friends of ours, so we always have a blast until the end. The original plan was to Uber it home, but since one of our lovely friends was driving, we hitched a ride back.
Thankfully, the babysitter and all three children managed to survive unscathed. She really only had to watch them for about four and a half hours, before they went to bed and she could do her work.
Upon arriving home, I instantly hit my bed and slept like a rock. Even after getting up at 8:00am, I napped a few hours later. If that’s not the sign of a good night, then I don’t know what is!
