Tricks and Treats

Halloween is around the corner! While most of us have no issues remembering to grab a bag of candy or two for trick or treaters, our furry friends are often left out. Around here, it isn’t uncommon for dogs to join in on the Halloween fun.
Since candy isn’t good (and can even be deadly for dogs) I’m opting for some pet-friendly options for Halloween this year. With Caesar’s help I put together a few treat bags for our furry visitors next week.
Using Milk-Bone and Pup-Peroni treats that I picked up at Walmart, along with some clear treat bags (from the party section) and printable tags, Caes and I took a few minutes one afternoon to put together these cute little bags. It was a quick project that included plenty of treats for my fantastic helper. Boy did he love those Pup-Peroni treats! And I don’t blame him, they smelled delicious!
If you’d like to put together treats of your own for the dogs in your neighborhood, this is what you’ll need to do..
What You’ll Need
- Milk-Bone treats
- Pup-Peroni treats
- Clear cellophane treat bag
- Printed bag tags (PDF here)
- A stapler
How to Put it All Together
- Each little bag got two Milk-Bones, plus one Pup-Peroni treat, which I broke in half.
- I then folded the bag down twice, to make it an easy size to toss in a basket, plus keep the treats fresh.
- Fold the bag tag evenly over the folded top of the bag, then staple once on each side.
Tada!
I also used a little bit of vinyl and my Cricut to decorate the tray that I plan on using to hand out the treats. You can find that file for your Cricut here. This was another quick and simple project, as I placed all the decals by hand.
