Time Flies

Before our friends arrived last week, I spent a good chunk of time cleaning up the house (thank you neighbors for taking the girls to Bible camp!). Now that our guests are gone, it seems like I have double the cleaning to do. There are towels scattered throughout the house from the various beach trips we took. Piles of dishes stacked around the sink from the countless meals that we enjoyed together. Oh, and the amount of sand in our vehicles- enough to create a beach of our own!

I’m always sad when it comes time for our visitors to leave, but it seems like more so this time, since the time flew right by us. Each day was chock-full of activities and exploring our beautiful island. We beached all around Oahu and tried all the yummy foods that I mentioned in our plan. And actually, we did pretty much everything that I had hoped to do, plus more!

I introduced our mainlanders to malasadas and shave ice. Not sure if they were impressed with the shave ice, but this time I got it with the ice cream inside and the condensed milk on top. Yum!

We did yet another luau, Germaine’s. Hopefully they enjoyed it, but I didn’t think it was up to par with Hale Koa or Paradise Cove. Germaine’s had similarities to Paradise Cove, but watered down. The drinks appeared to be watered down too. I don’t think I’d recommend it.

We’ve got plenty to do to keep us busy in the next few weeks, and before we know it, my brother will be here and we’ll be celebrating Juli’s birthday!
