Long Weekends
One of my absolute favorite things about the Army is that you can almost guarantee that you’ll have at least one long weekend per month. They vary between three and four day weekends depending on the holiday or occasion, but you usually know that there will be at least one. While most Americans got Monday off for Memorial Day, Hubster was also off on Friday. YAY! We spent a whole lot of time doing nothing, but that’s exactly how I like my weekends.
My Apple Watch arrived Thursday afternoon and I’ve pretty much been playing with it since then. I’ve been wanting a fitness tracker watch for a while, so this serves as one plus tons of other cool features. Like I can pay for my post-workout Starbucks using the app on the watch. I’m really excited to see how my workout goes today at bootcamp.
Over the weekend we also did a little beachin’, a little BBQin’, some cookin’. I wrote down plenty of recipes that I can’t wait to share!
There was also a little (very tiny) bit of party planning. I figured out exactly how I want to make the invitations and I started a list of who to invite. Since the community center was not available for the party, it’ll have to be at our house. I’d like to get some more crafting done throughout the week, since I still have the free image subscription that came with my Cricut.
Other than that, there was a little planning for when John takes finally command, but once again, it was a very tiny bit of planning.
This week I have tons of cleaning up to tackle. That vacation just got me into the habit of doing nothing. There should be plenty around the house to keep the girls and I occupied for the next four days. Yay, only four days! The second best thing about a long weekend is the short week following it!
