What We Did
The girls and I will be made TONS of melted crayons today! They were a hit on Instagram, so I decided to include those in the little treat bags that they’ll be taking to school tomorrow. I took a trip to Target yesterday and picked up a 120 pack of Crayola that we peeled and broke apart this morning. The box came with a ton of colors, so we were able to make some pretty combos.
Along with my trip to Target, I had to squeeze in a trip to Walmart to pick up gift cards for the teachers. Target didn’t have the ones I needed. I considered mugs or those insulated cups, but everything on the internet told me no. Teachers have enough cups and mugs and potted plants. According to all the comments from teachers that I read, gift cards are the most popular choice. Gift cards and a personal note, which I plan on writing tonight.
On the way home from shopping I drove past the commissary. I had intended on going grocery shopping, but it slipped my mind that it was payday. No way was I going into that mad house. Either way, we probably have more than enough food to last us until we fly off the island. I have dinner figured out for the next two nights, and then we really just have to make it through the weekend. My goal is to clear out the pantry and fridge so that I don’t have to worry about bugs or spoilage. So far, so good.
Is it totally crazy that I’m slightly paranoid about leaving my frozen breast milk in the freezer? I have this irrational fear that my freezer is going to die while we’re gone and I’m going to lose all of my liquid gold.
Anyway, that’s what we did today. I’m going to spend my last child-less day preparing for our trip. It’s almost time!
