Today is the Day!

Wahoo! We are finally getting our household goods delivered this morning! It’s been just over three months since we’ve had our stuff, and we will be reunited in a matter of a few hours. I seriously can not wait.

I can’t wait to sleep on my own mattress, which isn’t wrapped in plastic. I can’t wait to snuggle up and watch TV from our couch. I can’t wait to ditch the 19 inch TV for one that isn’t easily blocked by Adri’s gigantic head.

I’ve been debating which boxes I want to unpack first, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to the kitchen gear. I’ve missed using my KitchenAid. After cooking on crappy cookware, I realized that I took having good quality nonstick pots and pans for granted. I’m looking forward to having more than four place settings, and not having to wash dishes after practically every meal. It’ll be nice to have oven mits, and not have to use my only kitchen towel to pull hot cookie sheets out of the oven.

Pretty soon I’ll be able to open my Etsy shop back up. I’ve missed crafting so much. I might even get around to finishing the scrapbook that I was making as Hubster’s welcome home gift. You know.. For that deployment he came back from a year ago..

Cross your fingers that everything goes well for us. The original email that Hubster got said we were getting 2300 pounds delivered today. The delivery guy clarified and said it was more like 8000, which made me feel much better. Hopefully there won’t be any issues, especially since it is a federal holiday, and I’m not sure there will be anyone available to help us.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week! I can’t wait to share what our furniture filled house looks like!

Love, Alex

  1. So exciting! I’m so happy for you that you are finally getting your stuff. The place can finally start to feel more like a home. Since my fiance and I are constantly moving all over the place and don’t have our own house to store stuff at, we currently have stuff in 3 or 4 different places and it stinks!

  2. We are getting ready to pack up our HHG in the next month or so and I am already SO dreading that time without my bed. That’s Army life though right? Congrats on the return of your KitchenAid!
