Hiking Hawaii
We did our first family hike in Hawaii yesterday. It was only a mile, and paved all the way up, so I was expecting it to be a breeze. Holy crap! It was not easy at all! According to Hubs, it is actually one of the easier hikes on the island. Yikes!
Hubs was pushing the stroller, and I’m just out of shape in general, but it was quite the tough climb. About half way up, I felt like I was about to fall of the side of the cliff. It didn’t help that there were elderly people, obese people, and three year olds who all looked like they were having the time of their lives.
Once we made it to the top, the view was remarkable! They say that you can sometimes see whales migrating around this time of year, but we weren’t able to see any.
Apparently people place locks on the fence & throw away the key. Someone was kind enough to put one on the fence for Hubster and I. |
Help me out, Hawaii ladies, is Makapu’u Point Lighthouse seriously one of the easier ones? Are all the hikes that steep?

Ahhh I don’t know whats more gorgeous — the views, or those girls!! Seriously looks like such a great way to spend the day!
we hiked diamond head when we were there and saw that same lighthouse. 🙂 this looks like a beautiful hike!
Gosh that looks gorgeous, so jealous right now!
Gorgeous! I would probably be dying though. haha
I think it’s just one of the family friendly ones because it’s paved the whole way.
That looks like a gorgeous hike…might have to get the hubby to go one of these days….I agree with Jen though, it’s one of the easiest because it’s paved…..most of the ones to the waterfalls that we’ve gone to are definitely not kid-friendly!!
So pretty! Look how blue that water is.
Look at your guys in your matching hiking attire! You guys are so cute, and these pictures are amazing! What a beautiful place to hike around.
What gorgeous views!
Absolutely gorgeous! What a fun adventure.
You need to do the Koko Head hike. Not kid friendly, but such a great workout!!
So jealous! That looks like an amazing day– blue sky, your family, blue water!
That site is gorgeous! Jealous! But I would probably gasping for air too!
Those pictures are amazing! Visiting Hawaii is definitely on my bucket list! 🙂
I agree with all the above members thoughts. I also feel this is family friendly hiking. According to my point of views Hawaii is for lovers of sand and sea paradise and a must visit place for everyone. However if you get this great experience with our entire family it make double fun for us. So I’m impressed and going to plan hawaii bus tours with my family to enjoy the summer vacations in Hawaii.
