3-Ingredient Peach Cobbler

Three ingredient peach cobbler, also known as peach cobbler dump cake, is such an easy recipe that even the most inexperienced bakers can whip this dessert up!

With only 3 ingredients this peach cobbler dessert is so simple that it almost doesn’t even need a recipe, but I got a few questions after posting the photo on Instagram, so here we are. Often referred to as a dump cake, this recipe uses boxed cake mix, but turns out more like a cobbler than a cake.

Ingredients to make 3-ingredient peach dump cake: diced peaches, sliced butter, and yellow cake mix

Most recipes I’ve seen on other blogs or Pinterest for peach cobbler with cake mix use canned peach slices. Instead, I wanted to use canned diced peaches to ensure easier serving and plenty of peach bits spread throughout the dish. I highly recommend diced peaches in heavy syrup! It is important to remember not to drain the canned peaches.

Boxed cake mix sprinkled over half of peach topping in a white 13x9 baking dish

With the peaches dumped into the bottom of a 13×9 baking dish, the next step is to sprinkle a box of yellow cake mix evenly over the top. White cake mix will work for this too, or you could even use your favorite spiced or flavored cake variety! Carrot cake peach cobbler might be delicious!

The final step before baking is to top the cake mix with butter. Twenty four slices is the perfect amount to cover the top of the peach cobbler evenly. To make dividing an entire stick of butter a little easier, try cutting each tablespoon into 3 equal slices.

Finally, bake uncovered for about 55 minutes. The cake topping should be slightly golden, and the peaches nice and bubbly underneath.

I love to serve this up while still warm with a big scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream right on top! It certainly hits the spot when craving a simple dessert!
