Life Lately
Happy Monday, folks! It feels good to be back! Everyone is 95% healthy and finally back to school today! I’ll be using as much of the day as possible to get caught up on everything I ignored these last two weeks.
It’s been years since I’ve dealt with the flu, and I’m ok going a few more years before having to deal with it again. It got pretty bad up here! So many people that we know were sick as well! I ended up missing a girls’ weekend as a result. Boo!
Missing my weekend away was for the better, because all of the kids ended up sick as well. I can’t tell you how many trips were made for more drugs and snacks! I’m also the proud new owner of a fancy forehead thermometer. It’s so much better than our last one!
Since I barely ate from Thursday to Thursday, I was hoping to hop on the scale over the weekend having lost a ton of weight. Nope. Not even chose. Still kinda chubby. Although, I will say that my stomach must have shrunk a ton, because I feel full faster now. I’m eating half as much as I was before. I was definitely overeating before. I’m going to use this positive momentum to hopefully continue eating healthy-sized meals and get that summer bod. I say this as I’m snacking on a bag of Ruffles.
Speaking of summer, I’m hoping it makes it’s debut early this year. I am DYING to soak up some Newport sun before we head west this summer!
The movers have been scheduled for the last week of June! AHH! This will be our third PCS in 3 years! I’m looking forward to getting somewhere and knowing that we’ll be there for more than just a year! This assignment should be 2 years at the very least!
I haven’t said where we’re going yet, but I plan to share on Wednesday! I’m finally feeling inspired with a cute photo idea.
House hunting has been a bit of a challenge. John is wanting to live off-post and closer to town, but I’ve come to love the ease and proximity of living on-post. Currently, there aren’t many listings available (AHRN has a whopping TWO), so hopefully there are some openings closer to move time!
Along with planning a PCS, we’re ankle deep planning a promotion ceremony. FINALLY! They saved the best for last, and John will officially be promoted to major in June! His last promotion was about 6 years ago, while deployed, so this time around we have the opportunity to actually do something nice for it. I live for these little events!
And that’s the bulk of what we’ve been up to lately! I have approximately 10 loads of laundry sitting on our guest bed waiting for me to fold them. I was diligent about washing and disinfecting everything with germs on it, but folding laundry just sucks.
Hope your week is off to a fantastic start!
