Life Lately
Hello, friends! Happy Monday morning!
Around these parts, Mondays are actually starting to feel like a vacation! Our weeks are beginning to get jam packed with activities and extracurriculars. The weekends aren’t any slower either. Everyone is off to school today, so I finally have the opportunity to just sit. One of these days, I’ll actually make it out to the beach on my own!
Later on, Juli has a field trip to an apple orchard, which I’m thrilled for! I’ve never picked an apple before, although it’s always on my fall bucket list! For whatever reason, the field trip form said no posting photos to social media, but you better believe my camera battery is charging! I’m going to assume it’s no posting of other kids online? We’ll see when we get there. It should be fun!
Unfortunately, because of the time, it’ll just be Juli and I on our own. This will be something that we’ll have to repeat with the entire family! Thankfully, John’s schedule is pretty flexible, so he’ll be able to meet the older girls as they get off the bus.
We have another Hello Fresh box coming today! I wasn’t originally sold on the subscription, but after trying it for free, thanks to Lisa, I’m hooked!
Although it’s a bit pricier than I’d like, you can’t beat the convenience. The 4-person family plan comes out to about $90 for 3 meals. I was worried about small portions, but the 4-person plan is more than enough for our two adults and three kids!
On the nights that we have gymnastics, John is able to prepare a delicious meal in minimal time. He really hasn’t cooked since he was a single Soldier nearly a decade ago, so this is big for us! I consider myself to be a pretty good cook, but I’ve picked up some new tricks to add to my toolbox as well!
Between meal deliveries and the milkman, I’m hoping that I won’t have to spend too much time out and about come winter!
Oh! And speaking of winter! I ordered our caterpillars just in time! We’re 12/12 with cocoons, so fingers crossed that they all emerge as beautiful butterflies before it’s too cold in a few weeks! We had some cooler weather recently, so I was worried that it may have been to cold for the butterflies. Things are looking good for now!
And with that, I’m off! Caesar and I are going to go take a walk down by the water!
