LEGOLAND Florida + Military Discount
A huge thank you to LEGOLAND Florida for hosting our visit!
As we made our way down from Kentucky to Florida, we made a few stops along the way. One of those stops was to visit John’s family in the Orlando area. While we were there, I knew that I wanted to spend a day at a park! With their fantastic military discount, LEGOLAND Florida was the perfect option for us.
Upon arrival at the park, we opted to splurge a bit for preferred parking. The preferred parking is in a lot that is closer to the entrance of the park. It also has solar panels that provide shade. I knew that as we were exiting the park in the evening, we weren’t going to want to walk a million miles to a hot car. TOTALLY worth it for $10 more.
I wasn’t sure what to expect at LEGOLAND Florida, but it ended up be the ideal place for our family! Our girls range in age from 8 to 4, and all three had a fantastic time. At 8 and 6, Veronica and Adri were able to ride all of the rides. Most rides had a height requirement, but a few (like the virtual reality coaster) had an age minimum as well.
The Duplo area was perfect for Juli, but the other two were able to enjoy it as well.
We lucked out with bringing John’s mom, because it meant that we had three adults and three kids. Perfect for everyone to have a riding buddy!
We were able to save a ton of money by purchasing a souvenir cup which allows for free refills all day. You can even bring it back on subsequent days and reactivate it for just a few bucks. There are drink stations all over the park, so we did just fine sharing one cup. Don’t judge, I’m cheap. Plus, we had no desire to carry around more than one cup!
Water Park
After a rather warm morning at the park, we made our way to the water park. Tickets for the water park are separate, but were included in the military tickets that we got.
The girls LOVED hanging out in the wave pool and the huge play structure. We also took several trips around the lazy river. The river has floating tubes with LEGO bases on them and LEGO bricks floating all around. The girls were occupied by collecting LEGO bricks, while the grown ups stayed busy doing nothing.
The water park closed an hour before the rest of the park, which gave us just enough time to hope on a few more rides. The girls earned their driver’s licenses and V was even able to hop on once last roller coaster ride!
LEGOLAND Florida Military Discount
Entrance to LEGOLAND Florida Resort & Water Park is FREE for U.S. service members. John was able to quickly run up to the gate, show his ID, and skip happily into the park!
With all the chaos of the PCS move, we forgot to stop at the Fort Knox ITT office to buy an extra ticket for John’s mom. Luckily, there is a Navy ITT office in Orlando near the airport, where we were able to purchase a deeply discounted ticket that includes a free second day.
For those not able to make it to an ITT office, LEGOLAND Florida offers a military discount of 10% at the gate with a valid military ID.
If you’re a LEGO lover and happen to be visiting Central Florida, I HIGHLY recommend a trip to LEGOLAND Florida! We loved seeing the amazing LEGO structures and learning about how much time and LEGO bricks went into making them! Everything was AWESOME!
