On the Water
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’ve been a little busy lately. So busy, that I hadn’t even bothered to unpack my camera after our trip. Yesterday, I finally grabbed it to go on an adventure to the park, and realized there were a boatload of photos that I hadn’t shared yet. Not on here, not on Facebook, not anywhere!
While we were in Miami, my dad took us out on our usual trip to Stiltsville. The girls (and my dad) love going out there, so we try to go at least once each time we go home.
What the heck is Stiltsville, you might ask? Well, Stiltsville is a group of houses built out in the middle of the ocean up on stilts. There were once close to 30 houses, but due to hurricanes and such, only seven remain. My dad belongs to a group that owns and maintains one of the houses.
The house that my dad belongs to has everything from a kitchen, to bathrooms, to beds, and even a slide. We typically take our lunch out there so that we’re able to grill and spend an entire day on the water. There are docks that extend from the house as well, which is where the girls love to fish from.
On our recent trip to Stiltsville, we were greeted by dolphins about halfway there. I always get such a kick out of seeing real life sea animals out in their natural habitat. At least the fun ones like dolphins, whales, and turtles. I have no use for jellies and other creepy things.
While I lounged under the house sipping my moscato with my mama, the girls ventured off with their grandpa to catch some fishies! Veronica and Adri both caught their first fish from the Stiltsville dock when they were younger. This time Ju caught hers! V managed to snag nearly 30 this trip!
