The Next Step

Remember that time I kept my kid up all night in order to do an EEG? We finally got the results back from the doctor last week.

Instead of just a regular phone call, the doctor’s nurse gave me a call to set up a phone appointment with the doctor. The fact that it wasn’t as simple as a quick call, worried me little, but I sat by the phone patiently the next day awaiting the doctor’s call.

When the doctor did finally call, I was ready with a pencil and paper, to make sure I didn’t miss any details. Thankfully, there wasn’t a whole lot to jot down.

Veronica’s results came back abnormal, but showed no sign of seizures or epileptic activity. I have a feeling it’s related to her opening her eyes during a part where they were supposed to be closed, and her not actually falling asleep for the sleeping part, and instead finding it hilarious to be laying there.

There was no cause for concern, so we just have to keep an eye on her and let them know if she has anymore seizures.

In the meantime, we’ll be going back to the hospital for an MRI next week. The doctor just wants to have it on hand for future reference. Since it takes 45 minutes, she’ll have to be sedated, to ensure that she stays completely still.

Hopefully all will go smoothly, and this will be the last of our seizure worries.
