Back To School Teacher Gifts

Two things I love: crafting and saving money. I did a little of both this weekend while putting together gifts for each of the girls’ new teachers.

Even with the extensive school supply list that Veronica received this year, I wanted to send a little extra for her teacher. The teachers that we’ve been blessed with so far have been so loving and nurturing. I hate to think that they give so much to our children, and still have to provide more in terms of school supplies. Plus, with as little as they’re paid, it doesn’t even seem fair!

Gift idea that teachers will LOVE for under $10!

As we shopped for supplies, I picked up a few extras for the teachers. I mean, $0.50 for a 24-pack of crayons?! Can’t beat that! I bought extras just to have at home too.

As I was strolling through Walmart, I was trying to decide what to put all of the supplies in. I found the most perfect little plastic jars in the section with other tupperware stuff. They were around $2.50. Not terrible! I always hear teachers complaining about having too many mugs, so this was a way to avoid that. They won’t break if the fall off of a desk either!

Simple vinyl decals give each container a cute personalized look

For V’s teacher, I put two boxes of crayons on the bottom, then glue sticks above them, and pencils on top of that. I gently scattered the crayons on the bottom, so that they would take up more space.

For Adri’s class, I just used crayons and dry-erase markers. Since it’s a pre-k class, the teacher doesn’t need a whole bunch for the students beyond what was on the supply list.

To personalize each container, I had to jump on my Cricut and make some vinyl decals. Pretty simple, and only took a couple of minutes.

Two container filled with school supplies for teacher gifts

In the end, I had two pretty cute containers of school supplies for under $10 each. Since they were so cheap and easy to put together, I’ll probably make one more, for V’s teacher last year. V has asked about her, and she was just so wonderful to us.
