A Crafty Weekend

Aloha, lovelies!

How was everyone’s weekend?! I got some major craft time in, which I am still on a bit of a high about. Crazy how much happier I am when I’m creating something!

John was gone all day (and night) Saturday for a work thing, so I set off on a mission to get the house a bit more organized. First stop: Walmart. Man, I love Target, but it can get expensive. Wally World has the price point that keeps my wallet happier. I bought all sorts of containers to help organize (hide) things.

After throwing a bunch of crap away, I got down to business using my recently purchased goodies. I finally got shower caddys to put under the sinks in the bathrooms with cleaning supplies. I bought one for under the kitchen sink as well, but have not had a chance to tackle that beast.

Some of the baskets I purchased went to the laundry room to hide bottles and boxes of cleaning supplies. I’m on my way to having a Pinterest worthy laundry room! Just kidding.. There is no where to hide the mountains of clothes in there.

As I was organizing the laundry room, I quickly did a little project that I’ve been dying to do forever. I’ve been using an empty Tide Pods container as a little trash can on the dryer. I finally spray painted it and put a vinyl decal on it, to give it a fancier look.

While waiting for the paint on the Pods container to dry, I did a little more painting inside. Last week, I bought this adorable chalk board/key holder/mail holder at the craft store. It came unfinished, so I did a little “gray wash” using a bit of grey paint and a few drops of water. I love how it turned out, although I still feel like it’s missing something. Probably vinyl.

When our friends PCSd last week, they left a bunch of spray paint behind. I put that paint to good use on some outdoor items, such as an old watering can, to give them new life. Who knew spray painting could be so much fun and make everything look brand new!

The highlight of my crafting was a couple of shirts made with heat transfer vinyl. A friend of mine had a baby last week, and I made the most adorable little onesie. Once I stop being lazy and walk over to her house to drop off the gift, I’ll be sure to post a photo.

This week is sure to be a busy one, but I’m hoping to crank out some planner stickers as well!

Did you make anything over the weekend?
