Making Memories
This post brought to you by Disney Baby. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Munchkins and the Military.
The days are long, but the years are short.
I’m sure as parents, most of us have heard that quote. You struggle to make it through day to day life- the drop offs, the pick ups, extracurricular, practices, homework. And then one day you turn around, and your baby isn’t a baby. It’s shocking, actually.
Adri was born right around when Veronica was 20 month (the age Juli is now), and after that it was a whirlwind of deployment followed by PCSing. Due to that, I often feel like I missed out on some special bonding moments with my older girls, when Veronica and Adri were little. Since most days, it’s just Juli and I at home, I’ve been making more of a conscious effort to spend quality mommy and me time together. She’s now at the fun age between 18 months and 2 years, where she’s exploring and learning to speak. Or, in our case, yell. If there is one thing that my mini diva loves while we’re hanging out, it’s a good pampering session. She’s so funny when it comes to clipping her nails. She knows exactly which toe should be next, and is so good about giving you the foot that needs to be done. Just like her sisters, she loves to run over with detangling spray and a brush to ask me to put her hair in a “pony.” Taking my little friend on shopping trips is always quite the adventure as well. It seems like we can never leave the store without getting her something. With my moms’ weekend and our trip home coming up, Ju and I made a trip to Walmart, to grab a couple of essentials. I like to spread my shopping out early, to help avoid the sticker shock. Anyway, I got the most perfect weekender bag for myself, and of course a couple of goodies for my girl. I’m already stocking up on items to make our travel time easier, since it will just be the girls and I flying to Florida. Just the girls and I. All alone, with no Daddy..! One of the cute little items that we picked up is this Disney Baby Minnie Mouse Health & Grooming Kit, perfect for pampering my little one AND perfect to take along with us on vacation. We had one that we used for V and Adri, but have since lost most of the items. This one however, came with an adorable little tote, which Adri lovingly refers to as a purse, so we shouldn’t be losing anything. Ju loves having her hair brushed, and I love just how soft the bristles are. Also included in the grooming kit are: nail clippers and files, a medicine syringe, a nasal aspirator, and a comb. Just the right choice of essentials for our trip. Because Veronica and Adri will be staying with my parents following our trip home, it’ll just be Ju and I for the summer. I am so looking forward to the older two creating fun summer memories with their grandparents, and my baby and I creating special memories of our own!
Be sure to try this and other Disney Baby at Walmart from your local store!
