What We’re Serving for Thanksgiving
Woohoo! We’re just a few days away from Thanksgiving! The holiday where I don’t feel bad about going back for thirds or fourths. And in actuality, I really just spend the entire evening eating.
This year, we’ll once again be hosting some friends and coworkers for dinner. I love entertaining, but planning ahead is key in keeping me from stressing out.
I started prepping and shopping last week, as well as making list after list so that I feel ready come Thursday. He is what is on the menu for dinner this year.
I’ve never made deviled eggs for Thanksgiving before, but apparently that’s a thing, so they’re on the list this year.
The squash soup is a favorite of John’s. One of our friends always made it for Thanksgiving, so it’s made it’s way to our menu too.
Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing.. Duh. I think everyone includes those, right?! I’m pumped for the mashed potatoes. They are the best ever! I promise!
Originally, I had planned on making a double batch of green bean casserole. According to this Twitter poll, I’ll just be sticking with the original single recipe.
The cranberry sauce and rolls I’ll be making from scratch! I’ve got a ton of leftover cranberries from the sangria (which I’ll probably make again on Thursday). I thought about buying rolls, but you can make them yourself for SO cheap! I have the perfect recipe for light buttery ones too! Let’s not discuss how much butter I’ve purchased in preparation for this Thanksgiving meal….!
Frozen pies will be my go-to for dessert. SO simple and baking them yourself gives them a little bit of that homemade taste. I’ll be baking a few extra pies for the MPs on duty, so this way was the easiest.
