The Next Week

You guys! My biggest baby starts kindergarten next week! Ah! KINDERGARTEN! I’ve been pretty desperate to send her back to school, but now as the day creeps up on us, it’s becoming a bittersweet event.

This summer has like the longest summer ever. Since we got back to Hawaii from our trip home, it seems like all Veronica and Adri have done is butt heads. Their room is always a disaster, and generally, the rest of the house is too. With them back to school (Adri in preschool) I feel like I’ll finally have a handle on housework and the countless errands that need to be done.

Since this is our last summer before anyone is in school, I want to try to make it special. I have a bunch to get done this week, but the girls deserve some fun.

To Do in the Next Week

Finish back to school shopping: Veronica’s supply list is kind of ridiculous. We still need to buy all the paper towel, soap, tissue, etc. type things. If you don’t hear from me, I’ll around the island searching for marbled composition primary notebooks, wide ruled. Gahh!

Find some turtles: While my brother was here, he and his girlfriend found this random little beach with a TON of turtles. We haven’t seen to many since we’ve been here, so it’ll be a fun adventure to see if we can find some.

Get shave ice: V has been begging for some shave ice lately. It hasn’t happened over the last few weekends, so sometime while we’re out, we’ll have to make a pit stop.

Back to school clothes shopping: We have some great outlets here that I’m going to take the girls to to pick up a few new outfits for school. I can’t remember the last time we updated their wardrobes (most of V’s is 5T and Adri mostly has 3T) and it’s definitely necessary. I’d also like to pull a few things out of the rotation while it’s still in good enough shape for Juli to wear down the road.

What I’m Looking Forward To

Packing lunches: We’ve already started experimenting with lunch options this week. The goal is to pack healthy, fun lunches that Veronica will actually eat. There is a no-peanut rule, which will make things interesting, but I’m always up for a challenge.

Shopping alone: Man. My meal planning and grocery shopping has suffered with the kids home. For a while I was making daily trips to the store for dinner supplies. It would get us out of the house, but quick trips meant I didn’t have to go down every single aisle with kids asking for every other item.

Making some changes to the blog: I’m really excited about this one! Come back on Friday to see!

You know what else is happening this week? The 4×4 Round Up! Be sure to join in on Friday!
