Luminess Air [Review]
Thank you to Luminess Air for providing the product for this review. All opinions are my own.
If you’re familiar with me at all, you probably know that makeup is not my forte. For the most part, I could just slap on some BB cream and mascara and call it a day. I literally only have two makeup brushes. A big floofy one and a small eye shadow one. Guess which one gets used for everything. Well, up until recently that is.
Only a few weeks ago, I joined the wonderful world of airbrushed makeup. Let me just tell you right now, if you’re not spraying on your makeup, you’re missing out. I wasn’t sure if airbrushing would work for me, since I’m not the most talented in the makeup department, so you know that if I can do it with ease, so can you!
As soon as my Luminess Air kit arrived in the mail, I was eager to open it up and start testing it out. I figured it would take me a couple trial runs to learn how to get an even and natural look. I was so wrong. The first try was near perfect. I was so pleased that my second time using the system was to apply my makeup for John’s Change of Command ceremony. I think most military wives can tell you how important it is to look your best for these types of events. I was confident that my second go around with airbrushed makeup would be perfect for this event. And it was.
The foundation sprays on so lightly and evenly, that you really don’t even have to have any artistic talent to pull it off. All it takes is about six drops for me and my entire face is a nice even color. With more practice, I should even be able to use even fewer drops.
One of the great things about this product is that you don’t have to worry about that distinct change of color between your jawline and neck that sometimes happens with typical makeup. With a light spray, everything blends together seamlessly.
Included in my kit were two shades of foundation (I actually easily mix the two shades in the stylus for the perfect shade), one bottle of blush, one bottle of Skin Brightening Glow, and one bottle of moisturizer/primer. Even when using all five bottles, I can easily finish my routine in about two minutes. No more using time as an excuse to not do my makeup!
Not only is application quick, but it’s so easy and fun. I typically do it with Juli in my arms, since she’s at this stage where she never wants to be put down. I can easily place a few drops into the stylus as it rests in the little holder.
At first, I worried that because I was inexperienced, I’d spray unevenly and end up with super saturated and cakey spots. Not the case at all. It’s so easy that I can do it. And that’s coming from someone that doesn’t know how to apply eyeliner. With practice, application has become easier and easier.
The best part is that cleaning is a cinch with just a little bit of water. No need to worry about the process of washing brushes and all that. It feels like I’m in and out of the bathroom in an instant every morning with a nice even glowing complexion.
