My Favorite Grocery Store Wines
Sommelier I am not. I am however, a fan of good cheap wine. From dry reds to sweet moscatos, I drink them all. I love being able to run into a grocery store without having to spend much more than $10 and walk out with happiness in a bottle.
Here are some of my favorite grocery store wines:
Apothic Red (Winemakers Blend): This was a deployment discovery. I walked into Walmart one day and it was one sale so I walked out with three bottles.
Dark Horse (Red Blend): I just had this one last week, but I can’t stop thinking about how good it was! So smooth and delicious! Generally, I’m a fan of red blends.
Concha Y Toro Frontera: All the varieties that we’ve tried of this wine have been fantastic! Take my advice and opt for the larger bottle.
Barefoot (Moscato): Because nothing says party like a $3 bottle of wine. Another deployment discovery, thanks to my best friend. I like the pink version too!
Turning Leaf (Cabernet): If you were going to guess deployment discovery, you’d be right! How else would I survive a year with my husband half a world away?!
Vietti Cascinetta (Moscato): Probably the best moscato I’ve ever had. The great part is that it’s easy to find at the liquor store on post.
