Juliana – Seven Months Old
I’m a bit late with this post. We had a bit of a hectic week between the girls acting cranky and destruct-o dog attempting to tear down the house. That also means that I had no time to take decent photos.
Things with Juli have been going marvelously! She’s continuing to hit the big milestones in the baby department. Her personality continues to grow each day, and she’s becoming such a sweet baby.
At six months, we started Baby Led Weaning. So far, so good. I can’t say that she’s eating enough to compensate for a feeding, but she’s definitely getting some food in her mouth and is evident by her diapers. We’ve tried a variety of fruits and vegetables, all of which have made it to the mouth. Luckily, there have not been any choking scares. Bananas are currently the favorite.
Other than the single BLW daily meal and a few cereal puffs here and there, Juli is still exclusively breastfed. The feeding have cut back a bit, but I also tend to latch her on when she’s fussy. At bedtime she gets a big feeding and then it’s lights out.
Still no teeth, but she’s been rubbing on her gums and drooling a ton lately! I can see teeth down in her gums, but I can’t feel them yet.
Normally, we try to aim for an 8:00pm (ish) bedtime. Sometimes it’s a little earlier, sometimes a little later. Depending on the day, there have been nights where she’s slept until 6:00am! It’s not a definitely thing, but we’re certainly inching towards sleeping through the night.
The biggest milestone that Juli hit this month was becoming mobile! She has mastered the army crawl, so when she’s on the floor, she’s pretty much unstoppable. If there’s a toy she wants, she’ll go get it. She also tends to gravitate towards Caesar.
Cloth diapering is going well, aside from the occasional nighttime leak. That happens only on the nights that she sleeps attached to my boob though.
Overall, everything is great! Juli still has blue eyes, still sucks her thumb, and has recently started sticking out her tongue. It’s all so cute! Hopefully I’ll be better prepared with photos next month, so everyone can see!
