Juliana – Six Months Old
A whole half year old!
I squeezed Juliana so tight before putting her into bed on Sunday. I can’t believe how quickly time is flying! I’m exceptionally excited to come up with ideas for her first birthday party, but I’m in no rush for it to happen.
I forgot to call and make a six month well-baby appointment in time, so it won’t be until next week. Unfortunately, that means there won’t be any length or weight stats until then. I can tell you that she’s growing though! She’s no longer light as a feather.
As of yesterday, Juli can officially sit completely unsupported. She tends to wobble a little, so it doesn’t always last for long, but I’m able to sit her up and move my hands away without the fear that she’ll immediately topple over.
Last night we started Baby Led Weaning, and it went exceptionally well! I sat Ju down in her highchair, and put a couple of sweet potato fries on the tray in front of her. At first, she wasn’t too sure, but after a while, she was having a great time squishing the fries and giving them little tastes.
Aside from the solids that we started last night, it’s been all breastmilk for my baby. We can usually go about four hours between feeding, except for last week where it was nearly every hour. Holy growth spurt!
Along with the growth spurt also came sleep regression. For a while, Juli was doing pretty well with long, consistent naps. Lately, I’m lucky if I can get her to nap for more than an hour and a half. On the bright side, sleeping at night has been much better. She’s been sleeping for longer periods of time, so I have a chance to get some rest.
We’ve been doing more tummy time and Caesar always loves to come be a part of it. Juli loves when he licks her face, although I try to keep him from doing it, because who knows what else he’s been licking. When he lays on the blanket next to her, she loves to scoot around on her belly in an attempt to get closer to pet him. It’s adorable how intrigued by him she is.
