My Groundhog Days
One thing I never understood while growing up was Groundhog Day. How is this little rodent seeing or not seeing his shadow predict the weather. Doesn’t he know it’s always summer in Miami?! I did always love the movie though!
I got to thinking about what it would be like to live the same day over and over and over again. I tried to imagine what would make the perfect day, but I honestly couldn’t even get past breakfast and trying to decide if I’d prefer Cap’n Crunch or Cinnamon Toast Crunch everyday for the rest of my life. I did however, come up with a list of days that I wouldn’t mind reliving once or twice.
The day John came back from Afghanistan. Nothing like your babies getting to see their daddy for the first time in over a year. We also celebrated Christmas on this day, about a week late.
The day we bought our first house. Signing all the paperwork was slightly nerve wracking, but nothing makes you feel more like an adult than having a mortgage. I miss Housey. He was so good to us.
The first time John and I stepped onto a cruise. We were just blown away by how impressive the whole experience was. Since then, it’s the only way we vacation. I can’t wait for our cruise in May!
The day that each of my babies was born. Each of the three births was absolutely terrifying, but there is nothing in the world like holding the tiny perons that you created.
Our first day in Hawaii. I was just blown away by the beauty of the island of Oahu as we drove around the island exploring.
What day would you relive if you could?
