Blackberry Mint Gin and Tonic
Blackberry mint gin and tonic is a fabulously refreshing cocktail, perfect for summer sipping! Muddled blackberries give this mixed drink a beautiful vibrant pink color!
About a year ago, John and I were ordering a pre-flight drink and meal before boarding a plane to Europe. I have no idea what possessed me to order a gin and tonic for the first time ever, but I’ve been hooked ever since. I spent our week abroad enjoying a plethora of gin and tonic varieties, never being disappointed.
Be sure to check out the end of this post, for a link up with some of my favorite ladies sharing their cocktails & mocktails that never disappoint.
Unlike most people, I don’t get that whole cup of Christmas pine needle taste from the gin. Kinda like cilantro doesn’t taste anything like soap to me. Guess I’m genetically predisposed to enjoy delicious things. Or my tastebuds are broken, who knows?!
Anyway, gin and tonics have become my go-to cocktail order thanks to the sweet, refreshing flavor. Perfect for summer! And…maybe sometimes I drink a few too many without having to deal with awful hangovers.
Plus, it’s such an easy drink to make! We stick to a 1:2 ratio of gin to tonic water, with a squeeze of lime.
Since coming home, we’ve experimented with numerous gins along with plenty of ingredient mix-in. This beautiful cocktail came to be as a result of needing to clean out the fridge. A couple of blackberries starting to look not so appetizing? Toss ’em in the cocktail shaker!
I completely fell in love with the natural bright pink produced by blackberries, so I’ve been stocking up on them as of late. Thanks to my lockdown garden, we’ve been enjoying them along with fresh mint from the garden!
