We’re Moving!

Another move is on the horizon for the Fern fam! After just 2 short years of living in Missouri (for the third time), we’re headed south!

We are thrilled that the Army finally decided to move us back to our hometown, Miami!

John and I met while going to college in Miami, and it’s where much of our family and most of our friends still live. We can’t wait to get back and spend quality time with the people closest to us.

On top of that, I’m just so excited to get back to the food and culture that we miss so much. John and I have a few trips to visit planned before we actually move down, and I fully intend to spend the majority of the time eating. I can’t wait to get my hands on a guava pastry and an Iron Beer.

Oh, and I won’t be sad about missing out on winter. I love the snow, but these last few winters have not been snowy enough for me. I mean, if it’s going to be cold, there should also be boatloads of snow. That hasn’t been the case.

Selling the house

Along with moving, we’re also in the process of selling our house here in Missouri. And by “in the process,” I mean just waiting on our closing date two months from now.

The market here is absolutely out of control! We listed out house on a Friday morning and had a full price offer that afternoon. We didn’t take that offer, due to contingencies, but it worked out because two days later we had another much better offer.

From the day we listed, until the day that all the appraisals and inspections were done was exactly three weeks. It’s such a relief to be able to be moving on!

So many adventures await us in Miami, and I can’t wait to share them all!
