Red Velvet Hot Chocolate Recipe
Try as I might, I was just never able to get the TikTok famous hot cocoa bombs to work for me. I made several attempts over winter break, and while they tasted delicious, they were nothing like the beautiful ones I’ve seen across the internet.
That’s ok though! As a result, I wanted to try a red velvet hot chocolate instead. That white chocolate from the cocoa bomb melted into milk made the cocoas so rich and decadent. Perfect for a cold snowy day like today!
While the girls were out sledding this morning, I made a quick batch of this red hot chocolate, so here’s how you can make it too!
Red Velvet Hot Chocolate Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 cups milk
- 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Red food coloring
Instructions
- In a medium pot over medium low heat, whisk together the milk, sweetened condensed milk, and white chocolate chips until melted and combined (about 10-15 minutes). Stir frequently to keep the chocolate from burning on the bottom of the pot.
- With the white chocolate melted, add the unsweetened cocoa powder. Continue whisking until all of the powder has dissolved.
- Turn heat to lowest setting, then mix in the vanilla extract and red food coloring until desired red color has been achieved. Serve warm.
Notes
Keep and serve the hot chocolate warm.
