The girls have spent every single day since we arrived in Miami in the pool! We’re down to our last night here, so I wanted do a little something special with the girls. They’ve loved swimming in the evening with the pool light on, so why not add some extra glow to the water?!
John comes home from North Carolina tonight and we’ll be busy packing up to hit the road tomorrow, so last night was the perfect time for a late night swim sesh! We stayed out until nearly 11pm, which made for a later wake up this morning. Double mom win!
I ordered a pack of 300 glow sticks for less than $20 to dump in the pool. They’re the kind of sticks that can be attached to make bracelets or necklaces, but I didn’t want to deal with the potential of tiny plastic pieces in the pool pump.
I was able to quickly activate all 300 glow sticks by taking large handfuls and bending them in half. They definitely glow better when they’re extra broken though, so I made my way around the pool scooping up sticks and cracking them some more. I love that cracking feeling!
We played long into the night with a few games that included a color scavenger hunt. At the end of the night, we raced to see who could collect the most sticks. Veronica and I ended in a tie!
I don’t think you can beat this much fun only $20!
We still have at least another month of summer left once we arrive in Rhode Island, but this was a fantastic way to say goodbye to summer in Miami!
