Taking the Tonight We Sleep™ 7-day Challenge
This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with JOHNSON’S® and Latina Bloggers Connect.
Back when Veronica was born, getting her to sleep at night was one of the biggest challenges that John and I faced as parents. She would cry and cry without the ability to be soothed. By that time at night, the three of us were exhausted, which made it tough on everyone.
As we continued to have children, I learned the importance of having a routine and sticking to a schedule- something we never did with Veronica. I was amazed how much of a difference it made with Adri.
Although we have yet to perfect the bedtime routine, we’re working on it with Ju. Between the other two girls needing assistance getting ready for bed, and them having the priority, since they go to school in the morning, sometime the baby gets left out.
Between using the new JOHNSON’S® 3-Step BEDTIME® Routine and the JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® Baby Sleep App, we’ve been able to comfortably adopt an evening routine that helps get everyone settled and ready for bed each night.
The routine starts with a warm bath, and although we don’t necessarily use soap every night, Ju knows that bath time means the day is beginning to wind down.
The next step is a soothing massage. As we’re getting Ju dried off and dressed for bed, I usually cant help but to love up on her anyway, so incorporating this step was simple.
Finally, we reach quiet time. The JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® Baby Sleep App has a fantastic collection of lullabies that I play softly, while rocking Ju in her room. Twinkle, Twinkle, is her favorite song EVER, which means it’s constantly on repeat. Before she falls asleep, we rock gently in her glider, before transferring her to her crib.
I’ve been using the app for a week, and just love all of the features it has. One specific thing that we’ve been doing with Ju is the Tonight We Sleep™ 7-day Challenge. Through the challenge, we can track how Ju has been sleeping, and the progress we’re making while adjusting to our new normal. I happy to learn that although our routine isn’t perfect, we’re not doing too bad!
It took me a while to figure out, but having an established routine makes such a different when it comes to bedtimes and your littles!
