Keeping Connected During the Holidays
Thanks to CloudPets™, the girls are having fun and keeping in touch with family this holiday season!
The holiday season can sometimes be extra hard on military families. You’re often far from home and family, and isolated to your own little family. Not to mention, living in Hawaii means that it’s nearly impossible to afford a plane ticket home, especially when you’re also helping Santa put Christmas gifts under the tree.
Before we got stationed on Oahu, I had no idea just how far we’d be from family. The parentals live on the East Coast, approximate 4859 miles away. Because of the timezone difference and busy schedules, there are days where we don’t get a chance to talk. I often feel guilty that the girls aren’t growing up around our their grandparents and family.
There is a solution though..
CloudPets™ are a fun stuffed animal that helps keep families connected. Think of it as A Message You Can Hug™. The girls can send and receive message from family and friends all around the world with their new CloudPets™.
After downloading the CloudPets™ app to my iPhone, I was able to create an account and give our unicorn a name, Misty.
Playing around with the app before handing Misty off to the girls made me free extra secure as far as privacy. Not only did I have to approve who gets to connect with us, but I also get to approve each message before sending them off to Misty via Bluetooth. Not only are CloudPets™ great for sending messages back and forth, but they have the ability to play lullabies, games, and send stories!
One thing that I love about now having a CloudPets™ is that it has sparked the girls’ curiosity regarding distance and the difference of time zones. My brother, who lives in Amsterdam, is able to communicate with the girls which otherwise wouldn’t happen, since we’re literally 12 hours apart. Veronica is blown away by the fact that Uncle Jimmy is just waking up as we’re getting ready for bed. Randomly, she’ll ask what he or another family member is doing in their part of the world.
We’re so lucky to have our CloudPet™ to keep in touch during the holidays, and afterwards when everyone is back home.
