Thank a Vet for Veterans Day
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of DAV for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
Almost 13 years ago, John made the decision to join the Army. I was barely even in high school, but it was a decision that would come to affect my life as well. After meeting in college, John and I got married, and the Army became part of my life.
Since becoming a military spouse, I’ve gained a special appreciation for service members and veterans. Sure, I’ve always appreciated the sacrifices that these heroes make. But when you have an inside view of this lifestyle, you really get a sense of what our service members go through day in and day out.
With Veterans Days just around the corner, I can’t think of a better time to put together a touching tribute for those who deserve it most. Luckily, DAV (Disabled American Veterans) makes it easy to thank veterans this Veterans Day.
DAV is a wonderful (and the only) nonprofit that provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations. Each year, DAV helps more than 1 million veterans in positive ways. They offer assistance with accessing benefits that veterans have earned, such as healthcare and disability, and connecting them to meaningful employment opportunities.
Using DAV’s Thank A Vet tool I created a video featuring some of my favorite photos of John. One from a military ball that we attended in Missouri, and my favorite shot of him and the two oldest girls meeting him at the airport on R&R. It only took a few minutes to upload my photos from Facebook, and create my video thanking him for his selfless dedication to our country.
Be sure to create your own video thanking a veteran and share it using #ThankAVet. Check out some other Thank A Vet videos.
Thank you, DAV for continuing to support America’s veterans! Learn more about DAV
