The Highlight Reel

SO much going on these last few days!

We bought a car! It’s another Accord, although this time newer and with four doors. Much more convenient for the kids! John has named it Augustus, since he’s never going to have a son to give that name to. LOL

On Friday, the base hosted a Sam Hunt concert. I was no where near the crowd, but still enjoyed the show. There were odd parts between songs that random hip hop songs would play. Either way, we all enjoyed it. John had to work the event, so we visited with him a little.

For the 4th of July, I took the kids to go on the rides at the little carnival thing that they had going on. When it was dark, we watched the fireworks on base. It’s such an amazing privilege to be able to watch fireworks on a military base. Juli wasn’t too sure about the flashes and loud sounds at first, but she warmed up to it about halfway through.

I guess you could consider Sunday our day of rest. After the festivities two days in a row, we spent some down time with friends at the beach. Of course there was some soccer action on the TV. I tried a couple different flavors of Shock Top that were quite delicious!

Today was spent running errands. We had to go down to Honolulu to pick up insurance cards for the new car. We made a pit stop for lunch, followed by some shopping for John’s Change of Command.

I’ve been meaning to get stuff together for Juli’s birthday and party next week, but all of the prep for John’s ceremony has gotten in the way. It’ll be a welcomed break once all of the parties are out of the way.
