Summer Sunset S’Mores with Hershey’s

This post was made possible thanks to Hershey’s. All opinions are my own. #VeranoHersheys

Life has been super hectic lately, so after all of the nonstop, John and I finally took a chance to have some family time with the kids. The girls have been tagging along with me like little champs for the last two weeks on various errands, which made them more than deserving of a little treat time.

Not only that, but Veronica starts kindergarten in just a few weeks. While there are days that I’m desperate  to send her to school, I’m a bit sad that my biggest baby it hitting this major milestone. To make the most of the end of our summer, we took to the beach with some sweet treats.

For the longest time, V has been begging us to make s’mores, so that’s exactly what we did! S’mores are pretty much the ultimate summertime dessert and what better way to enjoy them than at the beach? Armed with a cute little WEBER grill, a few Hershey’s chocolate bars, marshmallows, and graham crackers, we hit Hawaii’s North Shore.

I love Haleiwa beach park for hanging out due to it’s proximity to our house. Since there are a bunch of rocks in the sand and water, it’s not the greatest for swimming, but we’ve had countless little picnics there as well as days where we just look out over the water.

The evening that we went out for s’mores, we were lucky to see some turtle popping their little heads out of the water. In the past, we’ve seen dolphins jumping out in the distance. Moments like these are the ones I hope the girls remember for the rest of their lives. We really are so lucky to be able to call this place home.

Sitting around the grill Veronica went on non-stop about school supplies and the test that she’s gotta take before school starts. Lately, Adri has a habit of repeat everything Veronica says, so we got to hear about school supplies and testing for a second time. Juli was just content eating sand. I remember Adri enjoying the sand buffet just a couple of summers ago.

With as crazy as life has been lately, it’s scary to realize that the real crazy is still years ahead of us and just how quickly those years will be here. This was the last summer with none of the kids in school. Soon there will be summers filled with camp and practice. The girls will be more interested in hanging out with their friends than with John and I.
