Juliana – 10 Months

The older she gets, the harder she is to photograph. I tried for two days to get some nice quality photos of Juli for this post, but it didn’t happen, so here it is anyway. She’s been rather cranky these last few days, so I have a feeling we have some more teeth coming in.

Juli’s first tooth sprouted on Veronica’s birthday. The second one was not far behind and showed up while we were on the cruise. Luckily, my parents say she behaved fantastically while we were gone. Even with the two teeth, we’ve continued nursing. The supply has dwindled since I was lax with pumping on the cruise, but I’m working on getting it back up. In the meantime, we supplement with formula.

Baby Led Weaning has been fantastic. We’re more or less to the point where I don’t have to prepare anything special for Juli to eat. In the mornings she gets a variety of dry cereal, and if I feel like cleaning up a mess, possibly some fruit or scrambled eggs. For dinner, I more often than not just give her whatever we’re eating minus the seasoning. Lately it’s been a bunch of chicken. So she just gets it slightly shredded.

Because she still isn’t sleeping through the night consistently, the formula tends to happen at the bedtime feeding. It worked for my mom to get her to sleep through the night, but things haven’t been as successful for me. In Juli’s defense, she’s getting sick again, which is what interrupted her progress with sleeping through the night at around eight months.

I have a couple of new cloth diapers coming in the mail today, so when I get around to diaper laundry, I’ll start unsnapping the rise on her diapers.

At her checkup last week, Ju was weighing in at a solid 20 pounds and measuring 28 inches long. So far she’s doing great in terms of hitting milestones. She’s crawling like a pro and has even pulled herself up to standing several times. She loves to give high fives and clap her hands. If you clap or say “yay,” I can almost guarantee that she’ll clap with you. When there’s music on, she does her adorable little dance.

With only two months left until her first birthday, I’ve already started crafting little stuff for her party. I still haven’t decided if I want to do something big or keep it small at the house. I guess we’ll have to see what’s available..
