March Date Night
Date nights outside of the house are few and far between around these parts. Aside from the few times that John’s coworker has watched the girls for us to attend Army events, I’m not so keen on leaving the girls with a baby sitter. It’ll happen eventually, but I already consider three to be a handful, and with one being a baby, I’m in no rush to leave them. Plus, once we go on vacation, we’ll have plenty of time away from the kids.
Anyway, our date night this month was rather low key, but in my opinion, pretty fun! We opted to do a movie night with snacks. John is the king of kitchen experimentation, but I have to take all the credit for this creation. Ready for it..? Oreo popcorn!
We crushed up a few Oreos in a ziplock, then sprinkled them over some popped popcorn. I think it would work best had the popcorn been drizzled with butter, but either way, it was delicious! Especially when you got the small chunks of icing. Salty and sweet, one of my favorite combos! Yum!
The Fast and the Furious was on TV, so that’s what we snuggled up to watch. Holy horrible movie. Wow! I don’t remember it being that awful 14 years ago.. John kept giving away the ending, which was not how I recall it ending, but he was right.
Aside from joking about the crappy movie, the highlight of the night was playing would you rather, online. The questions are randomly submitted by users and they vary from solving world hunger topics, to who you would rather kill. You can even choose to answer relationship based questions.
It was kinda fun to be surprised by some of the answers that John chose. We’ve been married six years, but there is still so much about each other that we don’t know and I guess have never really thought to ask. It makes me want to play similar games more often!
Oh and for the record, he prefers Jessica Biel over Jessica Alba…
