What’s The Point of Decaf Coffee?
For the first 26 years of my life, I was bothered by the thought of decaf coffee. I mean, what’s the point? It shouldn’t even be considered coffee. If you’re going to drink coffee might as well go for the real stuff, no?
I have sadly become one of those lame people that I used to hate on. I rarely drink coffee for the effects of caffeine, but boy does the caffeine affect me (I think I used those right). Actually, it’s more so the lack of caffeine that I can’t deal with.
I realized just over a year ago that if I drink coffee daily for at least a week, if I don’t drink it for a day, I’ll have a terrible headache by the end of that day. And it’s one of those untreatable headaches that won’t go away no matter how many Tylenols I pop. For me, it wasn’t worth becoming a slave to the mermaid or my Keurig in order to avoid headaches.
Since then, I’ve been a decaf girl. I really only have coffee once or twice a week. Mostly because I love the sweetness of a White Chocolate Mocha. It’s not like I really feel like I’m missing out anyway. It’s extremely rare that coffee actually does it’s job and keeps me awake. That might just be me though.
